About this event

SAGONGA: A Midweek Medicinal Meditation

Sagonga [suh-gong-uh]: An immersive and restorative experience that combines the ancient power and sounds of multiple gongs with the Amazonian plant medicine eyedrop Sananga.

I am offering restorative and medicinal Sound Journeys on select Wednesday evenings with the intention of providing an immersive sound experience that offers the opportunity to decompress during the middle of the week. What makes it so nourishing, you ask? I'll be providing a lengthy sound bath specifically utilizing the ancient power of gongs to take guests on a symphonic journey while also serving the powerful plant medicine of Sananga to help release tension, stress, and anxiety from the body and mind. These gatherings take place on the second Wednesday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. If you would like to reserve your seat for a future gathering, click on my logo at the top of the page to view dates for the entire year.

This is a unique experience in which guests will have the opportunity (completely voluntarily) to partake in a safe & legal Amazonian plant sacrament, and receive at least an entire hour of vibrational sound therapy through the use of 4 gongs.

I cannot apply this eyedrop if contacts are in the eyes, as it poses a safety hazard. If you have any questions or feel that financial blockage is preventing you from attending, please contact me directly. About Vibrational Sound Therapy & Gongs

Vibrational Sound Therapy is a proven method of holistic healing, which utilizes the frequencies and vibrations of sound to affect the mind, body, heart, and soul. In a Gong Journey, gongs are the primary (or only) instrument used. These instruments create an ethereal soundscape that envelops the senses, calms the body, and drops us into a subconscious state. While in this space, the mind unlocks, the body untenses, and the heart lowers active defenses. This gives us the ability to travel our own inner worlds, observing the energies, emotions, and thoughts that have been stuck inside of us. Through this sound-induced introspection, we are able to release the unhealthy buildup in our bodies; trapped emotions, disease, unhealthy thought patterns, trauma, physical symptoms, and more. During the experience, one may experience a release of emotions, have closed-eye visions, feel physical sensations in the body, or even fall asleep. All is normal and to be expected, and I can help you understand what was experienced. Coming back from the journey, there is a noticeable peace, calm, clarity, and lightness that is left filling the body. This is a unique experience that is different each and every time.

About Sananga

Sananga is crafted from the roots of the Tabernaemontana sananho (or undulata) shrub, which grows in the Amazon rainforest. This plant sacrament is served in the form of an eyedrop, applied to both eyes. Utilized for many purposes spanning a range of physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual intentions, Sananga has many potent benefits.

Traditionally, Sananga used to primarily be utilized for a few specific things: sharpening vision - especially in the dark, releasing fear and anxiety from the body, and creating a clear connection to one's intuition and inner "vision." Many generations ago, Sananga was brought in most often to administer to hunters before they went out on their hunts. The Sananga would prepare them to be out in the wilderness by releasing apprehension and fear, calming their nervous systems, sharpening both their daytime and nighttime vision, and helping them to intuitively know where their prey would be found. Sananga was also utilized by tribe leaders to help bring visions and awareness of any potential dangers coming their way, such as harsh weather systems that could destroy crops and invaders that would bring war and disharmony.

Sananga is known as an indigenous all-purpose remedy, having a wide range of uses and effects - especially with very physical ailments and afflictions. Other than the benefits that it brings to the physical eyes, this sacrament is used to treat skin illnesses, counteract snake bites and poisoning, suppress appetite, and bring relief to dental issues. Additionally, the testing of all of the plants in this family has shown that each shrub carries active microbial activity, revealing strong antioxidant, anticancer, antifertility/contraceptive, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, anti-mycobacterial, and antimicrobial effects.

When it comes to the physical eyes, Sananga has a reputation for being indicated in the healing of many eye ailments such as astigmatism, color blindness, cataracts, glaucoma, and even literal blindness. The indigenous teach us that Sananga cleans us of stagnated energies of the emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies, and can even help us to find the root causes of disease and unwellness. Helping us to identify and release tension in our bodies, it teaches us how to breathe, how to soften, and how to let go of anxieties that plague our mind.

Even though Sananga is famous for its effects on vision and visualization, this medicine is considered to be an indigenous all-purpose remedy. It is applied for febrifuge, emetic, diuretic, calmative, and several other diseases. Furthermore, Sananga is often used to cure skin illnesses (dermatitis), suppress appetite, ease dental problems, and counteract snakebite wounds and poisoning, cure eye wounds and rheumatism. Another important curative aspect of the Apocynaceae family is its widely explored antimicrobial activity, which showed that this family has strong antioxidant, anticancer, antifertility/ contraceptive, antipyretic (fever reducing), anti-inflammatory, anti-mycobacterial, and antimicrobial effects."
